Tremron Home Additions & ADU: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
We install Tremron-compatible pavers and retaining wall block for home additions and ADU projects across Los Angeles, with full addition builds typically running $53,100 – $153,400 and ADU construction from $106,200 – $259,600 depending on square footage, site access, and foundation work. Most homeowners discover their Tremron product has failed when pavers start shifting near a new addition’s foundation line, or when a retaining wall block cracks along the bond line after a rainy season. The good news: we stock common Tremron replacement units on our trucks, and we can source specialty pieces within a few days.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To
Tremron manufactures pavers, wall block, and slab products in several series lines, and compatibility matters more than most people expect. The Tremron Sierra, Tuscany, and Mega Olde Towne paver lines each use different dimensional tolerances, so a paver from one line will not seat cleanly next to a paver from another without visible joint gaps. If you’re matching existing work, flip over a loose paver and look for the Tremron stamp on the bottom face, or measure it: Sierra pavers run 6×9 inches, Tuscany runs 6×6 and 6×12, and Mega Olde Towne runs larger at 6×13. For retaining wall block, the Tremron Highland Stone and Diamond Pro lines have different setback angles, so you can’t swap one for the other mid-wall without changing the wall’s structural geometry. On OEM versus aftermarket for Tremron specifically: because Tremron colors are batch-mixed, even genuine Tremron units from a different production run can vary slightly in shade. Aftermarket pavers are almost never a color match. We always recommend OEM Tremron for visible areas and only consider quality aftermarket units for buried or hidden applications.

Signs Your Tremron Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Pavers sinking or dipping near the addition’s edge. This usually means the base layer wasn’t compacted correctly before the Tremron units went down, or drainage from the new roofline is washing fines out from under the pavers. Los Angeles clay soil expands and contracts with moisture, which accelerates the problem.
- Retaining wall block cracking along the bond line. Tremron block is made to interlock, but lateral pressure from saturated soil will crack units right where they stack. We see this most often in hillside neighborhoods like Mount Washington and Echo Park after two or three consecutive wet winters.
- Joint sand washing out after every rain. If you see sand collecting on walkways or patios after a storm, the polymeric sand has failed or was never activated properly. Left unfixed, pavers start shifting within a season.
- Efflorescence, that white chalky film, spreading across pavers. This is mineral salts wicking up through the paver from trapped moisture. It’s cosmetic but persistent, and it usually points to a drainage problem underneath the Tremron units that will eventually cause structural movement.
- A paver cracked clean through the middle, not along a joint. Point loads from heavy equipment, root growth, or a dropped load will crack Tremron pavers where they’re weakest. Cracked units let water in, and water in Los Angeles clay soil means heaving within a year or two.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For Tremron-specific repair work tied to home additions and ADU projects in Los Angeles, pricing breaks down by scope. Repairing a section of shifted pavers typically runs $4,130 – $12,980 depending on square footage, base re-compaction, and whether we’re reusing existing units. Rebuilding a failed retaining wall block section usually lands between $4,720 and $11,800. For a full home addition build with Tremron hardscape included, the range is $53,100 – $153,400, and a complete ADU runs $106,200 – $259,600. What drives the number: square footage, whether the existing base is salvageable, site access for equipment, and whether we need to pull permits. Every quote we give you is in writing before work starts, and the number on day one is the number on the invoice. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise, so if anything fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely identify a suspected failure yourself: look for uneven pavers, cracked wall block, or sand washing out after rain. You can also pull a loose paver and check the Tremron stamp on the underside to confirm what line you have. What we don’t recommend is attempting a DIY repair on retaining wall block or on pavers that sit against a foundation. Retaining walls hold back soil, often more than you think, and pulling block out of a loaded wall without proper shoring can cause a partial collapse. Pavers adjacent to a new addition usually fail because of subgrade issues, and leveling sand on top of a bad base only hides the problem for a few months. If in doubt, call us at (213) 277-6578 and describe what you see. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s worth a service visit.
FAQs

Tremron pavers in Los Angeles typically last 25 to 40 years when installed on a properly compacted base, but our local clay soil and wet-dry cycles mean pavers on undersized bases can start shifting within five years. The difference is almost always the base preparation, not the paver itself.
A cracked Tremron paver needs replacement. You can’t structurally repair a concrete paver once it’s cracked through, and any patch will fail in short order under foot or vehicle load. We keep common Tremron units on the truck and can usually swap a cracked unit during a single visit. Call (213) 277-6578 for exact pricing.
Most Tremron repairs around an addition or ADU take one to two days, depending on whether we need to re-compact the base or rebuild a wall section. A single cracked paver swap is often a same-visit job.
We stock common Tremron paver sizes and wall block on our trucks and can source specialty pieces or specific color batches within a few days. You never need to order parts yourself; we handle sourcing and delivery as part of the job.
If your Tremron hardscape around a new addition or ADU in Los Angeles is showing signs of movement, cracking, or drainage trouble, call us at (213) 277-6578 for a free estimate. We’ll give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
