Cambria Bathroom Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
Cambria bathroom remodeling in Los Angeles typically costs $10,620 to $33,040 installed, depending on the scope, the series you choose, and what’s behind your existing walls. We keep Cambria quartz slabs available through our supplier network and can usually start your remodel within a couple of weeks of the written estimate. Most Los Angeles homeowners call us when their existing vanity top, shower wall, or tub surround has cracked, stained, or separated at the seams, and we walk them through exactly what a full Cambria replacement involves before they spend a dollar.
Here’s the reality we see in Los Angeles homes every week: a bathroom that’s 10, 15, or 20 years old starts showing failure at the seams first. Water gets behind the old caulk, the substrate swells, and suddenly the beautiful surface you’ve been living with is no longer stable. Cambria’s quartz is exceptionally durable, but even the best material fails when the installation underneath it was never done right. That’s where we come in.
Which Cambria Models This Applies To

Cambria manufactures quartz surfacing in dozens of designs grouped into collections like Marble, Classic, Coastal, and Elements. The compatibility question isn’t really about the design name, it’s about the slab thickness and the fabrication profile. Cambria slabs come in 1 cm, 2 cm, and 3 cm thicknesses. For bathroom vanities and shower walls in Los Angeles, we almost always recommend 2 cm or 3 cm, because thinner slabs in a wet, humid bathroom environment show deflection over time and crack at the sink cutout. If you’re unsure what you have, look under the vanity lip for the Cambria engraving, or send us a photo and we’ll identify it.
One gotcha we see often: homeowners assume any Cambria design can be cut to any edge profile. That’s mostly true, but the book-matched designs have directional veining. If you replace one section of a bathroom wall, the new slab may not match the existing installation unless the fabricator re-cuts from the same lot. We’ve had clients in Sherman Oaks and Eagle Rock surprised by this. Our fabricator keeps detailed records of lot numbers, so we can check whether a match is possible before promising you a seamless repair. We install genuine Cambria quartz, sourced through authorized Cambria distributors, and we’re an independent remodeling company, not affiliated with Cambria itself.

Signs Your Cambria Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Seam separation at vanity backsplash or shower wall joints. When you can slide a fingernail between two slabs, water’s already working its way into the substrate behind them. In Los Angeles’s older homes, especially the 1940s and 50s builds in Mid-City and West Adams, the original substrate is often drywall, not cement board, and it’s been wicking moisture for years.
- Hairline cracking radiating from the sink cutout. This is a fabrication or installation issue, not a material defect. The cutout corners were likely cut too square without enough radius. Cambria handles stress-loaded cutouts well, but only when the fabricator follows the manufacturer’s minimum corner radius specs.
- Discoloration or etching around the drain. Cambria quartz is non-porous, so this usually means a cleaner with bleach or a high-pH product sat on the surface too long, or the original sealant at the drain collar has failed and mineral deposits are building up from below.
- Hollow sound when you tap the vanity top. Cambria should be set over a full bed of adhesive with support rails spanning the cabinet. A hollow tap means voids in the adhesive, and voids mean the slab vibrates every time someone sets a hair dryer down. Eventually, it cracks.
- Crumbling or swollen caulk lines with black staining at the corners. Black staining is mold in the wall cavity. By the time you see it spread along the shower pan line, the framing behind your shower may need partial replacement. This is the most common trigger for a full Los Angeles bathroom remodel rather than a cosmetic fix.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Cambria bathroom remodel in Los Angeles runs $10,620 to $33,040 installed. A smaller job, like a vanity top replacement with a new undermount sink, lands around $2,360 to $7,670 for the countertop portion alone. The spread depends on three things: slab square footage, whether you’re also replacing the shower walls or tub surround, and what we find behind the existing surfaces when demolition starts. Cambria slab pricing per square foot in Los Angeles runs $70 to $120 installed depending on the design tier, and fabrication for sink cutouts, faucet drillings, and polished edges adds to the total.
Every estimate we hand you is written, line-item, and fixed. The number on day one is the number on the invoice. That includes demolition of the old surface, disposal, substrate repair if needed, Cambria fabrication, installation, plumbing reconnection for your vanity, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something fails inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That promise is in writing, same as the price. We also stock cut-off remnants from larger Los Angeles jobs, so if you’re replacing a small vanity and don’t need a full slab, ask us what’s on the rack.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely photograph the damage, check under the vanity for the Cambria engraving, and measure the existing top before you call us. That saves time. What you shouldn’t do is attempt to remove a Cambria slab yourself. These are heavy, they’re bonded to the cabinet with construction adhesive that doesn’t release cleanly, and if the slab shifts while you’re cutting the adhesive, it can drop. Cambria slabs weigh roughly 9 to 11 pounds per square foot depending on thickness, which means a standard 61-inch vanity top can weigh over 200 pounds. Most Los Angeles homeowners who try this learn the hard way that the cabinet face or the plumbing gets damaged in the process, and now the job costs more.

FAQs

Cambria quartz is engineered to last decades, and in a properly installed bathroom it commonly outlasts the cabinet beneath it. In Los Angeles’s low-humidity climate, we see 20-plus years from the material itself, but the installation is what fails first when shortcuts were taken during the original build.
Small chips and light etching can often be repaired by a stone restoration specialist we work with, but cracks that run through the slab around a sink or seam separation at wet areas can’t be reliably glued. If your Cambria is cracked at a stress point, replacement is the durable fix. Call (213) 277-6578 and we’ll tell you which category yours falls into.
Most Cambria bathroom remodels in Los Angeles take 6 to 14 days from demo to final walkthrough, depending on whether the shower walls are being replaced and how much substrate repair is needed. Templating for the slab adds about a week between demo and installation.
We don’t warehouse full Cambria slabs, but our Los Angeles fabricator holds standard designs in stock and we keep common remnant sizes from past jobs on hand. Tell us the design name and dimensions and we’ll check availability the same day you call.
